Kylie Davidson
Artist + Arts-based Researcher
I am a Brisbane-based artist working across drawing, artist’s books, handmade paper, painting and sculptural assemblage.
My practice explores place, memory and embodied experience through material processes of layering, fragmentation, accumulation and repair. I am interested in edges and thresholds — where forms meet, unravel, hold, or remain unresolved.
Working with paper, ink, charcoal, wire, pigment and found natural materials, I begin an emergent process. Making becomes a form of inquiry: attending to small shifts, material resistance and unexpected relationships as they emerge.
My work is informed by arts-based research and an ongoing interest in multimodal and embodied ways of knowing — in what materials, gestures and forms might hold when words are insufficient.
